i have a new boatmate axle it appears to have oil bath hub's what oil do they use? :?:

I love those !! Big trucks have used those for years. I was considering converting my boatmate over to that style. Cant believe the new boatmates come with that now. I am pretty sure they just use 90wt gear oil.

I'm sticking with grease. you lose a seal with grease and you'll get home- lose an oil seal and it's bye bye to hub, axle most likely wheel, tire and fender. and it is almost instantly. I am glad to see they are putting them on there now tho. maybe the more people have them, they will get better- and I'm sure boatmate uses the good ones. easy to check the oil and know they're getting the proper lube

thanks guy and i found out from boatmate it's plain old 50w motor oil.
