Changed water pump and shift seal. Trying to put back on and cant get the last inch.I can turn motor with prop shaft still wont go . 225 promax 1995 I am new at this lol

Water tube, shift shaft, studs .

not studs shift shaft not tight prob water tub is there a trick to this or just keep moving around till it goes ?
