I've asked this question before, has anyone done a Titus or a JC mod on this lower unit? I have hydraulic steering yet I can still feel the tremendous torque this engine produces. Any ideas or advice. Thanks for any reply.

That's no different than any other 3.0L lower unit. I haven't worked mine yet. I won't send it off though, I'll just do it myself once I get a baseline. However, neither of my 3.0L motors have been that bad on steering torque. I went through that with a 03/225X though and in my experience the lower unit mods will help a little but the biggest bang for the buck was setup and prop.

Have you tried different engine heights? Where is it now? What prop(s)?
