Idling temp and info for 200xs?

I have a 2001 200xs. At idle, 4 psi (water), wot 23+. Problem is this: After idling a while the temp gets to about 156 (smartcraft). If I stand in the throttle to plane off, the alarm beeps (temp), but before the boat comes off plane, the temp is down to 120 or so and I can stand in it and it never misses a beat. Is it getting to hot idling? What can cause it? What is the normal temp idling? Thanks any that can help.

should be around 140 at idle... sounds like your thermostats might be shot... try a new set of thermostats and your idle temps should drop to 140ish
