my boat also has no cleats, and i have thoght of adding this type. is there enough structure in that area so if the cleat were ever stressed(tied to a dock, and rocking back and forth from HEAVY boat trafic) that it woudnt break the hull? mt

Mike, the cap (mine is an '88) is a little over the thickness of a nickel. The Accon cleats have a plate the same size as the above deck part (doubles as a hole template also)

The cap seems pretty tough but a slack dock line snapping tight over and over might not be the best thing. Mine haven't been really rough water tested yet.
