If you are having high fuel consumption, high fuel pressure, smokey running, poor performance etc, check the screen on the inlet of the regulator. This is the return line from the VST to the regulator. Pulled mine out last night for chits n grins and it had quite a bit of trash on it. This applies to Merc motors with lazer style injection. Both 2.5 & 3L motors have em.
