Installed one of these on my trolling motor a couple weeks ago. For something so simple, it's amazing that minn-kota doesn't just include one on the motors from the factory. You know those days when the lake is rolling and the trolling motor is splashing in and out of the water and the foot pedal keeps getting jerked left and right.....well this stops it altogether.

Ah yes, the answer to one of my biggest gripes with these new hi thrust trolling motors that have foots the size of a small-block Ford...

GotMyally, my Dad's basser has the 80 lbs. MinnKota Maxxum... Is that the same trollperfect part that you bought, called the MK-1..? Thanks..
