Just got a used (05) 250 XS and was looking to do general maintenance items on it. It didnt come with an owners manual and was just looking online and found that you needed to check or replace the air filter for the air compressor. Well to my surprise there wasnt one. Got me thinking did the previous owner take it off?? Nope, called Mercury and was told that these models didnt have one. I really wonder why most all opti's have a filter but the racing version (at least an 05') doesnt??? The tech at merc told me that it should be fine, (thats real reasurring).... I told him I guess I'll cross my fingers and hope in doesnt injest anything.
