Did Merc change to the big bearing 260 and the four bolt main at the same time? 92 1/2?

Big bearing 260 came out Aug 1995. Not sure about the extra bolts.

Merc was having problems with the cranks on the 2.5's at the time. My buddy had a 1991 on a Mirage, still under warranty. we put a really small prop on that thing and ran it red line one day, all day. Yes, it blew up and he got a new, free, four bolt main, warrantied powerhead. Did Merc ever make any money on the 2.5? BP series?

Mercury also replaced a two bolt main 260 powerhead for me with a free four bolt main powerhead after the two bolt broke a crank about a month after I got it.

How many times did Merc do that? Lots and lots.
