225 promax rev limit

I have a stock 1998 225 promax that I was considering having the rev limit changed/raised. I'm aware that I may not want to rev it up too much due to pistons needing pinned? If I were to want to have the ECU flashed who/where would be able to do this for me? I am not looking to spend alot of money for a standalone ecu or tunable software. Was hoping there was a quick flash to raise and leave all else the same unless there was a better fuel map available to be flashed at same time.

Maybe you can find someone with an ACU to sell. I had Tony B set mine to 7k.

Tony B can do this to a stock ECU? Or you have an aftermarket acu?

The Brucato ACU is aftermarket and no longer in production. They also made a step up called a PCU. I think that Simon in California can reflash some stock ECUs.

If Tony retired it would have been in the last six months. It has been about that long since I spoke to him.

He told me a while back he was retiring and turning the injector cleaning business to someone else. Maybe he changed his mind...

Thanks for all the info guys. Hadn't heard of the rod bolts and cages being questioned. Being an engine builder definitely has me on hold now!!
