Ive got a promax and noticed a lil oil in the bottom of the pan after removing the cowling. It was starting to get dark when we pulled in. I didnt know if someone knows of any problems with the promax engine that may cause this or where to start looking. Im kinda new to this engine having ran an older merc for years. Any help would be appreciated, the motor runs great and hasnt been ran hard this year.

Where are you observing this oil ? Front, back, starboard side, port side ???If its leaking under the front I have seen this allot. It can seep from the port middle block bolts that also acts as a oil syphon from the middle main bearing to the intake. I have been using sealer ( Loctite 518 ) on the block bolt washer before the block bolts are torqued and has stopped that issue. It can also be a injector seeping and running down into the cowling after a while of use...

Just a few reasons that oil could be there,
Jay
