Any word on what it weighed? Looks great!

    Engine height on XB2003/225 PM???

Need to go at least even on the height. Be sure to measure from the pad and not the lip. Should drive a whole bunch better and not get squirrely.

    Will she run??

Hopefully it's the ACU that was causing it. I've had the same "worst I've ever seen" comment on injectors and the motor ran exactly the same after new injectors as it did with the old. :P

    Prop Recommendations - SS w/280

Hoss Triton. Although with a stock box you will probably need a 30. My 28 will turn about 8100 which is 105-106. Had it for over 10 years. ET's are good too, but they seem more prevalent to break.

Thoughts on a Center Steer GS?

Leave it alone. Problem is the shape of the dash on the GS and you'd have to cut it up in order to make it work. It's nots flat across the middle like a XB2003 or an SS. This is why I can't live where there's winter. It's only November and you're already looking at potential projects. Haha.

    200xs going on my Grandsport!

Friend has one on a XB2003 and I think he's seen 86-87 with it. Not to mention the crazy fuel mileage!

Just for all you "non" Facebookers...

I'm about 180 and with 25lbs and my seat as far to the center as it will go, I can keep it pretty flat. That's with nothing else in the boat though, which rarely happens anymore. Last week I had a full cooler in the left rear, and the day's "boating crap" with me. Didn't have my seat over...

Just for all you "non" Facebookers...

I think it's a little easier to drive with a 6" chop, then with a dead calm glass condition. Get the other 2 people out. Haha.... Factory 15", 260, 28" Triton, 8 1/2" setback, a tick above the pad, hydraulic steering, and 25 lbs of movable weight...

Just for all you "non" Facebookers...

Never had a chance to really string an ET out... Kinda for the same reason as you. The Hoss runs so well, never had a reason to change. I'll tell ya tho, that last mph or so, the bow really starts huntin around. Up to 104-105, it feels perfect and dead set, perfectly balanced...then it wants...

Just for all you "non" Facebookers...

I posted on the Ally FB page, but I know there's still a few that only come over here. Ha... Took the ole girl out for a spin by myself for the first time in over a year... Just a slight tail wind (5 mph tops) and did it a couple times just to make sure the GPS was reading right. Lol...

    GS Setback

Hell, I was gonna say, raise it up! Doh! If you're 14" back, it should definitely be safe above the pad. I'm only 8 1/2" and a tick above on mine. Also, where and how are you measuring prop height? Make sure the pad and propshaft are both level and you measure in front of the lip where...

    Hydraulic steering

The feedback is there, it's just completely different. Since it's not power assisted, you do get a heavier feeling turning left than right, but much more enjoyable to cruise than the cable. I love mine, and would never go back to cable.

    GS deck strength

Been all over mine, and never had an issue or heard cracking. Gotta have somewhere to put the dancing girls!

    Fire extinguisher mounting in GS

I'm not exactly sure how mine is attached. It's been there since I bought it and it's still there so I guess it was done right. Haha.

    SS 2000 pictures

Lee is the man. ;) He's might be old (j/k Lee :big grin :at the bar), but he's got a whole bunch of time behind the wheel of an SS, and a great one for advice.

    Bat Turn........Ranger style

Seems like he really doesn't have a clue what happened. First, he said the boat kept going in circles after they came out, but then he said he was briefly knocked unconscious and woke up curled in a ball at the bottom of the lake. And the life jacket didn't inflate...doesn't make a good...
