    Sportmaster lower unit

Re-installed L/U after some repair work on skeg and new impellor. But barely any water pressure; just 2-3 pounds when on plane. Only thing I can figure is I'm missing some kind of seal at top of water tube. Is there a o-ring or gasket that should be there; anybody? Thanks!

    LOWER UNIT QUESTION

I've managed to put a few dings on sportsmaster skeg and have friend who is very good welding aluminum. His only concern is whether welding can be done with gears still in case; or will heat cause seals to melt. My opinion is there shouldn't be a problem. Also; how tight do you re-torque l-u bolts?

    xb2003 question

Guys, thanks for all good responses to questions! I never would have thought to look under livewell. Probably once you hit 60-65mph that part of pad is too far out of water for transducer; and just start getting surface clutter.

    xb2003 question

Where's the best spot on a xb for shooting thru the hull? Other side of center rib opposite pump? Does spot have to be sanded smooth first? Or is there a tray under gas tank?

    xb2003 question

Harvey, are you able to maintain good sonar contact with bottom while on plane? With my Garmin 168 mounted off transom; 25-30 mph was about it and still get good reading

    xb2003 question

I guess thru-the-hull is the best solution except you get no surface temp reading which does come in handy. Considering just taking off speedo-pickup since it never stays popped down anyway; and mounting in that area since its a little larger. That is what makes me think there is small space...

    xb2003 question

Just got a new Lowrance with dual frequency transducer; where is best place on transom to mount bracket? With my other GPS unit(Garmin), bracket was alot smaller and no problem to mount opposite side of speedo pick-up. Is there a space between gas-tank and hull for short screws if I go higher...

    200xs

28 chopper Chopper has allison cut from performance in soddy-daisy. But top-end virtually same as trophy and hitting rev-limiter. Billy has added cup but not there yet. He says I should see 88+ with this prop and I agree! These little 200xs are awsome! B&WB mag estimates hp at more like 230...
