How much it run $$$ to open a merc up. old 200hp that is

I have a 1979 allison xst with a 200 merc 24p chopper. All is fairly stock specs. Ive been playing with engine height and its taken my pickups above the water( currently 3" bellow the pad) Whats the best vs easiest way to pickup water.
