Way back there was a 2003 with a full enclosed canopy. I think it had been in a fire and a shop in Fla rebuilt it. As I recall Yellow Allison was involved in the project. Never heard any speeds but it was a wicked looking set up and should have been very fast. Believe it ended up in Ilinois...
Allison changed the upper transom bolts from 1/2" to 9/16" some time between my 1994 and my 2000. I had to enlarge the upper holes once on a jack plate swap. GAR
I used progressive since 1997 on two Allisons, three PWC's and a pontoon and never filed a claim. Stuck with them because their disappearing deductible was down to zero but we are done now.
Got a letter (on pink paper) from Progressive today stating that my XB2003/225X "can attain a maximum speed in excess of what is allowed in our boat program" and they will not continue my policy. Odd because they insured this boat for years with a 280 on it. I called my Farmers agent who has my...
Mercury Racing 2017 price list for the 250XS is $20,853 msrp, $18,957 base and Platinum dealers get a 18% discount down to $15,544. Some will meet or beat Jaco. If any one would make an offer I can't refuse for my 04 225X I would have one on my XB2003.
I have owned several 4 Blade over/through props. Two Mazco HP4's , a couple of Hydromotive Q4-OT's and some Trophy's. The ProMax's were OK, just not the super performer advertised by Mercury.
I had a 26 and a 28 that I used for a while on my 2003/225X. Nice thick barrel and blades , so they should be durable but I didn't see any performance advantage over similar 4blade OT props.
My 2000 XB2003 came new from Allison with the flasher puck stuck in the middle of the pan with a big glob of silicon sealer, not the epoxy I was expecting. Took several hours to clean that mess up and make room for two pucks.
I put the transducer for a HB 788 DI in the pan a couple of years ago. Seems to work OK, but I don't know if the signal is as good shooting through the hull.
I'm running a 26 ProMax on my XB2003, better all around performance than my 26 Trophy but less top end than my 27. Should have bought a 28. I would sell or trade it for one of those. GAR
